Fibrax Wrexham Roads Club welcomes us to Alyn Waters Country Park for Round 8 of the League. Alyn Waters is a 400 acre country park in the County Borough of Wrexham. It is located between the villages of Gwersyllt and Llay and takes its name from the Afon Alyn which flows through the middle. There’s plenty to challenge competitors. If dry Alyn Waters is fast and free flowing. If it rains this really is a race of Belgian character.
Sign-on will take place on the school playing field
Competitors and families please leave your dogs at home if possible.
Parking. There is ample parking in the School Car Park.
Public Male & Female WCs are located at the adjoining Cricket Club and also at Alyn Waters Visitor Centre. As usual please treat facilities with respect.
Timings:
10 -10:45 Race 1&2 number pick up and fun race registration.
11:00 – Kids fun race
11:20 Race 1: U12/U10/U8 Entry Fee (£2 online or £5 on the day)
11:50 Race 2: U16/U14/ Adult novice/fun (£4 online or £7 on the day)
12:30 – 13:00 Race 3 number pick up (£4 online or £7 on the day)
13:15 Race 3: Juniors & Adults (Nifty online entries only, no payment on day)
14:30 – all hands to the deck to help take the course down please
NO riding on the course whilst other classes are racing
Race 1 & 2 can pre-ride 10-10:30
Race 3 can pre-ride 12:30 – 13:00
Fibrax Wrexham RC welcomes newcomers. You can race on cyclo-X, MTB or hybrid bike but please ensure your bike is fitted with knobbly tyres because there is Alyn Waters is as slippery as an eel if it rains.
Please ensure bikes are fitted with knobbly tyres for traction & safety. Smooth tyres are no good for off-road cycling.
