Ni yw gwesteion Nant Gwrtheyrn. Os na fuoch chi erioed i’r dyffryn hardd a hanesyddol, paratowch i weld rhywle anhygoel! Ni fyddwn ni’n difetha pethau gyda gormod o fanylion rwan.

Disgwylwch gwrs coedwig gyda llawer o gorneli. Bydd mwd yn sicr o fod ar gael, ynghyd â gwreiddiau coed, mwsogl ac ychydig o greigiau. Cadwch olwg am Geifr Mynyddog, Bran Goesgoch, Cigfran a Hebog Tramor!

Dilynwch yr arwyddion brown “Nant Gwrtheyrn” o’r A499. Trowch i’r dde wrth y siop yn Llithfaen, i fyny’r bryn serth. Parhewch dros y brig a’r holl ffordd i lawr i Nant Gwrtheyrn. Os gwelwch yn dda, ufuddhewch i derfynau cyflymder y safle a pharcio lle rydych chi’n cael eich cyfeirio

Bydd gorsaf HQ y ras yn cael ei sefydlu ar y ffordd baw yn y goedwig tua 200 metr i fyny’r bryn o’r maes parcio. Gellir cyrraedd hyn trwy feic neu ar droed. Cymerwch ofal yn y coedwig, yn enwedig gyda phlant, mae rhai llethrau serth a nant os ydych yn mentro i ffwrdd o’r cwrs. Cofiwch ymatal rhag reidio beiciau yn y maes parcio neu ar y llwybr i Cafe Meinir lle bydd bwyd a diod poeth ar gael. Dewch â’ch cwpan y gellir ei ail-ddefnyddio os ydydch am fynd allan i wylio. Defnyddiwch barch at y cyfleusterau a holl ddefnyddwyr y safle.

We are the guests of Nant Gwrtheyrn. If you have never been to the beautiful and historic coastal valley prepare to be amazed!

Expect a woodland course with lots of corners. Mud will almost certainly be in evidence,  along with tree roots, moss and a few rocks. Look out for wild mountain goats, choughs, ravens and peregrine falcons!

Please follow the brown “Nant Gwrtheyrn” signs from the A499. Turn right by the shop in Llithfaen, up the steep hill. Continue over the top and descend with care all the way down to Nant Gwrtheyrn. Please obey the site speed limits and park where  directed.

Race HQ gazebo will be erected on the dirt road in the forest approximately 200m from the car park. This can be reached by bike or on foot. Take care in the woodland, especially with children, there are some steep slopes and a stream if you venture away from the course. Please refrain from riding bikes in the car park or on the path to the Cafe Meinir.  Hot food and drink will be available at the Cafe. Bring a  re-usable cup if you want a take-away. Please treat the facilities and all users of the site with respect.  Parents:  children are to keep to the marked course and to stay away from the stream.

Children & Seniors must enter on Nifty Online

As in previous seasons NWCX is requiring online entries with Nifty  for all senior and children categories except for the novice childrens’s race and the novice adults’ race.  This ruling is to provide HQ adequate time to issue timing chips and reduce administration burdens.

Children & Seniors Novice (beginners) race – enter on the day

To encourage beginners NWCX offers “one the day entries” for the childrens novice race (usually at 11am for 10mins duration) and the adults novice race (usually at 12midday  for 30mins duration). These beginners’ races can be entered on the day.

Timings:  ( ARE 1hr later than normal timings)
11:00 -12:30 Registration. There will be no registration after 1130.

12:00 Novice Children -( 10mins ) £2 (entry on the day)

12.20 Race#1:U8s, U10s, U12s   ( 20mins ) £3 (£2+£1 admin fee) Nifty Online Only

13:00  Race#2:  U14s, U16s,  ( 30mins )  £6 (£5+£1 admin fee)  Nifty Online Only         + Adult Novice ( beginners) £7 cash (enter on the day)

14.15 Race #3: Senior race (M/F, Vets, U18s)   60mins   U18 £6 (£5+£1 admin fee)  Nifty Online Only,   All Seniors  £11 (£10 + £1 admin fee) Nifty Online Only

(Vets will be classified V40, V50,  V60+ subject to participant numbers )

Warning: The first races of the year are busy so please arrive early to collect your number.

Newcomers regardless of age, gender or ability are welcome. You can race on a cyclocross bike or a mountain bike. You can try the beginners race for 30mins.

Parents:  children enjoy cyclocross. If unsure don’t be afraid to ask at HQ. This series prioritises racing for children and newcomers. Most beginners make rapid progress.

Single frameset rule: NWCX operates a single frameset rule. You must use the bike you start with. No spare bikes permitted once race underway.

Knobbly tyres: cyclocross takes place on grass, mud and trail surfaces. It is essential for competitor safety that you fit knobbly tyres for cyclocross. Riders with smooth tyres will be asked to discontinue.

Competitors retain numbers. This stays with you for all season so keep it safe between races. Replacement numbers will be charged at £3 per set.

Competitors are to hand back their race chips at the finish. Each chip cost £30+vat.  You will be billed if failing to hand back your chip
